CardConnect

Connect CardConnect to Recurly to process credit card transactions for US and Canadian merchants — with Auth and Capture support, chargeback management, and merchant account application via Recurly.

CardConnect is a payment gateway for US and Canadian merchants that supports credit card purchases, recurring billing, and Auth and Capture transactions. You can apply for a new CardConnect merchant account directly through Recurly at an exclusive processing rate, or connect an existing account.

Integration notes

  • Daily transaction batch closing is set to automatic by default, but can be adjusted to suit your business needs.
  • Chargebacks can be managed and viewed within the CardPointe application, with customizable notifications and support from Fiserv's chargeback team.
  • CardConnect supports the Auth and Capture transaction flow.

Merchant account application

CardConnect processes merchant applications quickly — with a minimum 4-hour turnaround and a 75% automatic approval rate. If additional review is needed, you'll be contacted within 24 hours. Monitor your inbox for updates from CardConnect on your application status.

Merchant account support

  • Existing CardConnect account — To use an existing account with Recurly, contact your CardConnect representative to update your account information.
  • Delete a CardConnect account — Remove the payment gateway from Recurly first, then contact CardConnect to deactivate or delete the merchant account.
  • General support — Contact CardPointe Support at [email protected], call 877-828-0720 (Opt 1 → Opt 1), or open a ticket through CoPilot merchant ticketing.

If you already have an active CardConnect account, skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Apply for a CardConnect merchant account

Access the application

From the Add CardConnect Gateway page in Recurly, follow the link to CardConnect's Hosted Application Page.

Complete and submit the application

Fill in your business details, review the form, and submit your application.

Monitor your email

Check your inbox for application status updates from CardConnect. Most applications receive a decision within 4 hours; additional review takes up to 24 hours.

Step 2: Configure CardConnect in Recurly

Open Payment Gateways

In Recurly, navigate to Configuration → Payment Gateways and select CardConnect from the list of available gateways.

Enter your credentials

Input your CardConnect Username and Password.

Select accepted card brands

Choose the card brands you want to support.

Configure currencies and Merchant IDs

Under Accepted Currencies, add all currencies associated with your CardConnect account using the Available Currencies dropdown. For each currency, enter the corresponding CardConnect Merchant ID in the Merchant IDs for Selected Currencies field.

Configure Zero Dollar Authorizations (optional)

If your CardConnect account supports ZDA, select which card types are authorized under Zero Dollar Authorizations (Advanced).

Enable and save

Set the gateway to Enabled for new transactions when you're ready, then click Add Payment Gateway to complete setup.
