Compass agents & skills

Recurly Compass puts a team of AI agents inside your Recurly account — to answer questions, configure billing, pull data, write code, and protect revenue. This path introduces each agent, the skills it runs, and the Compass Assistant that brings them together.

Agents, skills, and the Assistant

Recurly Compass is the AI built into your Recurly account, and it's organized into three simple parts. Once you see how they fit together, the rest of this path is easy to follow.

Each part plays a distinct role — a specialist to ask, a task it runs for you, and a chat that puts them to work.

Recurly Compass agents and skills

The three pieces

  • Agent — the specialist (the "who"). Each agent is an expert in one area of your subscription business. You have five: Knowledge, Code, Configuration, Data, and Retention.
  • Skill — the job it does (the "what"). A skill is a specific, guided workflow an agent runs for you — like Create a Plan or Generate an Export. An agent can have more than one skill, and Recurly adds new skills over time.
  • Compass Assistant — the chat that runs them (the "how"). The sparkles panel in the bottom-right corner of Recurly, where you can trigger any agent's skill in plain language and ask for best-practice guidance.

In short: agents are the who, skills are the what, and the Compass Assistant is how you put them to work. This path introduces each agent and the skills it runs, then finishes with the Assistant that ties everything together.
