Recurly gives you four promotion types to work with: free trials, coupons and discounts, gift subscriptions, and gift cards. Each one serves a different stage of the customer lifecycle — from first-touch acquisition through long-term retention.
Free trials, coupons and discounts, and gift subscriptions are available on all Recurly plans. Gift cards are available on Pro and Elite plans only — contact [email protected] or your CSM to discuss upgrade options.

Free trial management
Offer potential customers a free trial period to experience your product before committing to a paid subscription. Trials are configured at the plan level and automatically convert to a paid subscription when the period ends.
Coupons and discounts
Apply percentage or fixed-amount discounts to subscriptions or one-time charges. Recurly supports bulk unique coupon generation and multiple coupons per account.
Gift subscriptions
Let existing customers purchase a subscription as a gift for someone else — a natural driver of brand awareness and new customer acquisition.
Gift cards
Issue prepaid stored-value cards that customers can redeem as payment for subscriptions or one-time purchases. Available on Pro and Elite plans.
Gift cards dashboard
Manage the creation, issuance, and status of gift cards from a single dashboard. Available on Pro and Elite plans.
