Recurly's Countries, Provinces, and States feature is a system that converts all countries, Canadian provinces, and U.S. states to ISO alpha-2 codes in our database. These codes are used when communicating with payment gateways and third parties, ensuring a standardized and universally recognized format for location data.

Key details

How it works

When sending location data to Recurly (such as when setting up an account or processing a transaction), ensure that all Countries, Provinces, and States are sent using their capitalized ISO alpha-2 codes. For example, send "US" for the United States, "CA" for Canada, "ON" for Ontario, "NY" for New York, and so forth.
If Recurly is unable to match the country or province to one of our codes, we will store the raw input you give us. For example, if you send "New York" instead of "NY", we will store "New York" in our database.
These codes are used when communicating with payment gateways and third parties, ensuring clear and accurate data transmission.
