How it works

When sending location data to Recurly — for example, when creating an account or processing a transaction — always use capitalized ISO alpha-2 codes. For example: US for the United States, CA for Canada, ON for Ontario, NY for New York.

If Recurly cannot match the value you send to a recognized code, it stores the raw input as-is. For example, sending New York instead of NY stores New York in the database, which may cause address validation or tax calculation errors downstream.
