Eligibility criteria

Before applying, confirm you meet the following requirements:

  • Your business must be located in the United States.
  • Your late failure rate must be 0.5% or lower.
  • Standard accounts are limited to $5,000 per transaction. Higher limits may be approved on a case-by-case basis — if approved, you'll receive two Check Commerce accounts: one for transactions of $5,000 or less, and one for transactions exceeding $5,000.

Required documents

Have the following ready before starting your application:

  • A voided check
  • A valid US driver's license
  • Articles of incorporation
  • Screenshots of your checkout flow with the required disclaimers
  • If one or more Principal Business Owners are based in Canada, a copy of the Principal's passport is also required

Apply for an account

1

Open Payment Gateways

Log in to Recurly and navigate to the Payment Gateways page.

2

Select Check Commerce

Click Add a New Gateway at the top right of the page, then select Check Commerce from the bottom of the list.

3

Confirm eligibility

If your Site Settings country is not set to the United States, the Check Commerce option won't appear and this gateway won't be available to you.

4

Request an account

If you don't already have a Check Commerce account, click Request an Account. You'll be redirected to Check Commerce's online application. Do not change the Referral Partner ID on that page — doing so may delay your account setup.
