Connect WorldPay eCommerce (formerly Vantiv/Litle) to Recurly to process card payments and Apple Pay for US and Canadian merchants — with automatic account updater and fraud filtering support.

Wrong guide? If you have a Worldpay username and password instead of a Vantiv/Litle Merchant ID, see the WorldPay dLocal / LATAM directions instead.
WorldPay eCommerce (formerly Vantiv / Litle) integrates with Recurly to process credit card and Apple Pay payments for US and Canadian merchants. Before configuring the gateway, you must request permission from WorldPay to allow Recurly to connect to your account. This guide covers setup, currency configuration, account updater, and fraud filtering.
Available on all Recurly plans

Prerequisites

  • A WorldPay eCommerce (formerly Vantiv) merchant account.
  • WorldPay's approval for Recurly to connect to your account — you must request this from WorldPay before setup.
  • If you plan to use WorldPay's Automatic Account Updater, confirm configuration settings with your WorldPay account manager before enabling it in Recurly.

Limitations

  • You must contact WorldPay to authorize Recurly's access before the integration can be configured.

Automatic Account Updater

Recurly supports Account Updater across all gateways. Optionally, you can also enable WorldPay's specialized Automatic Account Updater in your Recurly gateway settings. When enabled, Recurly makes an additional transaction attempt after a hard decline to obtain any card updates available through WorldPay.

Fraud filtering

WorldPay offers fraud filtering products to help identify and prevent fraudulent transactions. Recurly recommends enabling fraud filtering for WorldPay accounts. To learn about available options and activate the features that fit your business, contact your WorldPay account manager.

Enable the gateway

Step 1: Set up your merchant account

If you don't already have a WorldPay eCommerce merchant account, establish one before proceeding.

Step 2: Request connection permission

Contact WorldPay and request permission for Recurly to access and connect to your WorldPay eCommerce account. You cannot proceed with Recurly configuration until this access is granted.

Step 3: Add WorldPay in Recurly

1

Open Payment Gateways

In Recurly, navigate to Configuration → Payment Gateways and select Vantiv from the available options.

Step 4: Configure gateway settings

1

Select accepted card types

Under Accepted Credit Card Types, select the card brands you want to accept.

2

Add currencies

In the Accepted Currencies section, use the dropdown under Available Currencies to add all currencies associated with your WorldPay/Vantiv account(s).

3

Enter Merchant IDs

In the same Accepted Currencies section, enter your WorldPay/Vantiv Merchant ID for each selected currency under Merchant IDs for Selected Currencies.

4

Configure Zero Dollar Authorizations (optional)

If your WorldPay account supports Zero Dollar Authorizations, select the eligible card types under Zero Dollar Authorizations (Advanced).

5

Enable Automatic Account Updater (optional)

Check the Automatic Account Updater option to allow Recurly to make an additional attempt after a hard decline to obtain card updates from WorldPay.

6

Save the gateway

Click Add Payment Gateway when your configuration is complete.

Step 5: Test the integration

Run test transactions to confirm the integration is working. Review results and address any errors before going live.

Step 6: Configure fraud filtering

Contact your WorldPay account manager to discuss fraud filtering options and activate the features best suited for your business.

Tip After going live, monitor your gateway's performance regularly and keep your WorldPay account settings in sync with your Recurly configuration to avoid disruptions.
