August 18-19, 2026 - Recurly Subscriptions Management

This release brings analytics, gateway upgrades, and new retry behavior to Recurly.

The Checkout dashboard will be updated to include a new payment method conversion section. This update with include a trend chart comparing overall conversion against each payment method (credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, etc.) as well as a breakdown table for each method showing how often it's shown, attempted, and successfully charged — with two key rates: Checkout Rate and Authorization Rate.

Stripe will receive a maintenance update around API versioning as well as an enhancement for unscheduled merchant-initiated transactions using Auth and Capture logic.

Retries now maintain a dedicated list of Visa category 1 sub-codes for retries to enhance our already supported Mastercard MAC codes for those rare scenarios where Recurly receives them including: Stripe, when Stripe is your acquirer, and in Recurly Recover when they are provided via API.

Finally, Cybersource is being upgraded behind-the-scenes with little to no change required from Merchants unless you have not enabled your configuration with a P12 REST certificate yet. Sandbox sites will be migrated first, followed by production sites between September and early October of this year.

If you are connecting on your own to Stripe using a connected account, ensure you are using an updated version (from the last 2 years at least), no higher than the version listed, to avoid issues.
Aug 19	Stripe Gateway	Enhancement	Low	We will now support separate Auth and Capture behavior when using an unscheduled MIT reason code via API. If you are not utilizing MIT reason codes via the Authorization flow, this will not affect your integration. No other gateways are supported at this time.
Aug 19	Intelligent Retries	Enhancement	High	We will be acknowledging Visa Merchant Advice Codes, rarely returned to Recurly, in Recurly Recover endpoints as well as general Retries where applicable. Overall, Stripe will return these codes when they are the acquirer, but few other gateways supply Visa-specific codes. Actual impact expected is lower due to the rarity of these codes returning, though given the broad nature of retries, impact is listed as High for visibility.
Aug 19	Cybersource Gateway	Enhancement	Med	Recurly has upgraded our integration to Cybersource and will be migrating merchants one by one over the course of a month. Beginning August 20th, all sandbox sites will begin migration, and production sites will begin in September and continue through October. If you have questions on your position within the migration timeline, please contact your Recurly point of contact or Tech Support. Note: Please ensure you have a P12 certificate enabled in your Cybersource account prior to September 1st to avoid production authentication issues. If you have already done so, there are no changes required prior to migration.
